RTÉ will more than likely not broadcast all 64 games from this summer's European Championships. Yesterday, it was reported that the national broadcaster and TV3 are set to sign a deal which will see the latter show 22 games from the finals.
Despite the downsizing of their coverage, RTÉ are still looking to recruit new blood.
According to the Irish Daily Star, RTÉ are lining up Damien Duff as an analyst. Duff, just two months into retirement following his brief stint with Shamrock Rovers, looks like he will begin his media career this summer.
It will certainly be welcome to have to the views of the recently-retired 100-cap Ireland international on the panel to freshen up the opinions of Dunphy, Giles and Brady.
In somewhat of a pessimistic view of how Ireland will fare in the tournament, TV3 are also apparently hoping to have Martin O'Neill on as an analyst for the latter stages of the tournament.
