Damien Duff has signed a new long-term contract with Shelbourne to remain in charge of the League of Ireland leaders.
The announcement was made by Shelbourne on Thursday morning, with the ex-Ireland international's coaching team also extending their deals with the Drumcondra club.
In a statement, Shelbourne said,
Shelbourne Football Club is thrilled to announce that Damien Duff has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
This new long term agreements solidifies Duff and his coaching staff’s commitment to the club for the foreseeable future and demonstrates the club’s ambition to bring Shelbourne FC back to the pinnacle of Irish football.
Duff has been an integral part of the club’s resurgence in recent years, bringing an elite mentality, experience, expertise, and passion to his role. Under his guidance, the team has seen remarkable growth and development, the board of Shelbourne FC are thrilled to continue this journey together.

Damien Duff signs new long-term contract with Shelbourne

Damien Duff is joined in extending his deal at Tolka Park by assistant manager Joey O'Brien, first-team coach David McAllister, S&C coach Mauro Martins, and goalkeeping coach Paul Skinner.
The length of the new deals is unknown at this point.
Speaking on his extension, Duff said, "The players, the staff and the club are always in my heart and in my head. Time to rise again."
Damien Duff, who won 100 caps for Ireland over a 14-year international career, took over as Shels boss in late 2021, shortly after the club was promoted back to the League of Ireland Premier Division.
He has overseen a transformation in the club's fortunes, bringing them to the FAI Cup final in 2022 and securing European qualification by finishing fourth in the Premier Division table last season.
This campaign has been the best yet of the Duff reign, with Shelbourne sitting atop the Premier Division by two points, with a game in hand and 22 played.
Shelbourne also learned this week that they will face St. Joseph's of Gibraltar in the first qualifying round of the Conference League. Should they progress, their second-round game will be against FC Zurich.
The news of Damien Duff's contract extension will be music to the ears of Shelbourne fans, who are dreaming of bringing the League of Ireland trophy back to Tolka Park for the first time in 18 years.
