Considering how good Liverpool are at the minute, it is scary to think that they have some top youth prospects coming through the ranks as well.
Two young talents stand out above the rest, with Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott both having made an impact at first team level this season. The pair have featured in the Carabao Cup, where they impressed with their performances.
Jones scored the winning penalty in the shootout against Arsenal, while Elliott was very assured against The Gunners and MK Dons despite his youth. At 18-years old and 16-years old respectively they seem set to have a big future in the game.
Both were part of the Liverpool U19 team who took on Napoli in the UEFA Youth League this afternoon, a game the English side would win 7-0. Unsurprisingly, they stood out as the best players on the pitch.
Jones would finish the game with a hat-trick, with his third goal one of the best you are likely to see. Elliott, meanwhile, dazzled on the right flank.
After Jake Cain opened the scoring inside four minutes and Jones scored a penalty 14 minutes later, Elijah Dixon-Bonner scored this wonderful volley to push the lead to 3-0.
Jones grabbed his second of the game a few minutes later getting on the end of a sumptuous cross from Elliott.
He also played a big part in their fifth, coming up with a beautiful cushioned header to set up Luis Longstaff.
His third goal was the pick of the bunch. He picked the ball up on the edge of the box before making a mockery of the Napoli defence, selling a dummy and rifling one in on his left boot.
Take a look at this.
If they can keep this up, you can expect them to get more first team chances sooner rather than later.
