A number of Crystal Palace fans put one in their own net on Friday night when they made absolute shite of what they believed to be the Middlesbrough team bus.
The bus was parked at a hotel near Selhurst Park- one where away teams tend to stay ahead of trips to Palace. It was spray-painted with the words 'Crystal Palace FC'.
The bus, however, belonged to Palace, and will cost £40,000 to repair.
Palace’s assistant head groundsman, Dean Waters, tweeted: “£40,000 worth of damage on our coach thinking it was the Boro coach. Nice one! #cpfc”
He deleted the tweet shortly afterwards, but word was already out that Eagles fans had made an absolute bags of things.

One explanation for the Palace fans' faux pas was that 'Boro had flown down to London and borrowed one of Palace's buses. Right idea, wrong execution from the vandals, then.
A more pertinent and overriding explanation is that it was altogether the wrong idea, and those responsible were eejits of a particularly lofty echelon.
A Palace spokesperson told the Sun that the incident had been reported to the police.
