Last night Robbie Keane made his final appearance for Ireland, signing off with an absolute gem of a goal against Oman.

Keane's club LA Galaxy took out an ad in yesterday's Irish Times paying tribute to the 36-year old and his 18 year career.

Congratulations, Keano! The LA Galaxy would like to congratulate Robbie Keane for all of his accomplishments in his remarkable 18-year career with the Republic of Ireland.

That's a nice gesture from the Californian club. But to be fair, Robbie Keane is arguably the best signing in MLS history, he's scored 80 goals in 121 appearances for them, he's definitely worth a newspaper ad.

Not to be outdone, the club where Robbie started his career, Crumlin United, took out an ad on page 3 of today's Irish Independent.

@LAGalaxy He ended with you, but he started with us. Thanks for the memories Robbie.

Simple yet effective. Great gesture from the club where it all started for Ireland's top goalscorer of all time.
