Cristiano Ronaldo Wins The 2014 Ballon D'Or

The votes are in, and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo has won the 2014 has been named the winner of the FIFA Ballon D'or for 2014.

Ronaldo was the favourite for the award, his third Ballon D'Or in total, coming off of a spectacular year where he scored 54 goals in all competitions. He won the award ahead of Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer.

Some had expressed a desire for Messi to win it again, after a strong performance at the World Cup for Argentina, however many people in football also claimed that Neuer deserved to win it, after a fantastic season with Bayern Munich and of course, collecting a World Cup winner's medal with Germany, however, Ronaldo saw off the competition from both players.
