After being left out of the Man United squad to face Fulham last night, the reasons for the absence of Ronaldo have become a lot clearer, following the release of a spate of wild and disrespectful quotes from a wild interview with Piers Morgan.
By now many of you will have read some of the bizarre statements from Ronaldo, where he has had a go at everyone from Erik ten Hag to Wayne Rooney, and Ralf Rangnick to the Man United chefs.
Five Maddest Takeaways From Piers Morgan's Ronaldo Interview
Wayne Rooney comments:
We know how vain and image obsessed Ronaldo is, but to use his looks as a stick to beat Wayne Rooney with is insane to say the least.
Furthermore, Rooney's Ronaldo comments, which you can read here, were totally valid.
I don’t know why he criticises me so badly . . . probably because he finished his career and I’m still playing at high level.
I’m not going to say that I’m looking better than him. Which is true...
Rooney on Ronaldo: “I’ve seen Roy Keane defending him?!…Roy wouldn’t have accepted that at all. It’s a distraction #mufc don’t need.”

Ralf Ragnick comments:
In defence of Ronaldo, some of his comments on Ralf Rangnick make sense, as his appointment did confuse and surprise many fans and pundits.
However, arrogantly stating that he had never heard of him as if this should have been reason enough not to hire the German, is yet another example of Ronaldo's enormous ego.
After the club sacked Ole, they bring sporting director Ralf Rangnick, which is something nobody understands.
This guy, he is not even a coach. A big club like Manchester United brings a sporting director surprised not only me but all the world.
If you’re not even a coach, how are you going to be the boss of Man Utd? I’d never even heard of him.
"I feel betrayed."

The Man United infrastructure......and chefs:
Even the chefs at the club are 'catching strays' as they say, as Ronaldo hit out at a lack of progress at the club, in terms of infrastructure, since he left in 2009.
Nothing changed since I left. The pool, the jacuzzi, even the gym, even some technology. Even the chefs who I appreciate, lovely people.
I thought I would see new technology, infrastructure. I saw things I saw when I was 20!
Erik ten Hag:
The subject of his relationship with Man United's manager was always going to arise, but given how fair ten Hag was to Ronaldo after his recent controversial antics against Spurs, the striker's comments are baffling.
They are yet another example of Ronaldo's clear belief that he is above both the club and the manager.
Yes, not only the coach (Ten Hag), but another two or three guys around the club. I felt betrayed.
Yes I feel betrayed, and I felt some people don't want me here, not just this year, but last year too.
I don't have respect for him because he doesn't show respect for me. If you don’t respect me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.
Ronaldo “I don’t respect the manager”
Ronaldo under ETH: Announced he wanted to leave, refused to come on as a substitute, walked off the bench & left before the game had finished.
99% of United fans will be on the side of ETH, which shows how badly Ronaldo has handled this.— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) November 13, 2022
'The Truth':
Describing Ronaldo as delusional is probably justified, particularly after reading the comments below.
It is obvious for any football fan with knowledge of the situation what the 'truth' is, while to say that he wants 'the best for the club' after his behaviour, is narcissistic to put it mildly.
I think the fans should know the truth.
I want the best for the club. This is why I came to Manchester United.
But you have some things inside that don’t help (us) reach the top level as City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal... a club with this dimension should be top of the tree in my opinion and they are not, unfortunately.
