Cristiano Ronaldo was visibly fuming after being taken off during the second-half of Man United's 0-0 draw against Newcastle earlier today.
It was yet another disappointing display from Erik ten Hag's side, and another goalless Premier League game for Ronaldo, as his 2022/23 season struggles continue.
Ten Hag reefed him off in the 72 minute for Marcus Rashford, with the English striker missing a gilt-edged chance in injury-time when he steered a header wide.
Ronaldo, who had two goals disallowed in the second-half, shook his head irritably when walking off the pitch, and could be seen muttering angrily to himself before slumping down in his seat.
While some were clearly dismayed at the actions of Ronaldo, there were fans who felt that he should have been left on and that he would have put away Rashford's chance.

Rashford on for Ronaldo. Ronaldo shakes his head. Probably can't believe he's being taken off before Fred

I am tired of the Ronaldo discourse. He played for 70 minutes today and offered little to no goal threat while actively disjointing moves, please stop acting like just because he wasn’t on the pitch for a single chance is why we lost the game

OMG this match should have been won. For me, Rashford should have come on for Sancho not Ronaldo. Anthony was looking brighter but final pass 👎🏽 more room for improvement. #MUFC

Erik ten Hag gave his views on the game post-match, and was surprisingly upbeat about the performance.
"The performance was good, a clean sheet, we pressed well, we controlled the game and in stages we were good on the ball - especially in the second half.
"Then, we dictated the game and in the end we could - we should - have score the winning goal. One from Fred, and then [Marcus] Rashford had to score.
"In the end we could have got the win, we deserved the win, and it is a big compliment to the team that we deserved this with a physical performance against one of the most physical teams in the league. They [Newcastle players] all had cramp and we kept going.
"The team understands from front to back we cooperate together. We are hard to beat and we must keep that going."
