Ballon D'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has had a few choice words to say about his Madrid rivals over at Atletico.
The Real Madrid attacker who scored in Real's 2-2 draw with Atletico on Thursday night has claimed that the team across town are a "defensive" side, but was quick to acknowledge that it works for them, a point which was driven home by the fact that Atletico won the fixture 4-2 over the two legs.
Speaking to Spanish newspaper AS, Ronaldo said:
Atletico don’t play attractive football. They are very defensive. They just wait for dead-balls. But it works well for them, so their coach and players should be respected.
They looked pretty attractive to us when Fernando Torres hit them twice on the break yesterday, but sure what do we know?
Ronaldo and his Real team-mates have suffered a bit of a dip in recent matches, but they will be looking to bounce back as they take on Getafe this weekend.
