Philippe Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian has refuted reports linking the Brazilian with a move away from Barcelona.
Coutinho has endured a difficult stint with the La Liga side and reports in Calciomercato suggested Liverpool were set to offer the 27-year-old an escape route back to the Premier League side with a two-year loan deal with the option to make it permanent for £88 million.
It is not the only club he has been linked with, as both Manchester United and PSG were reportedly keen.
However, speaking to TalkSport, Joorabchian insisted a move to Manchester is 'near-impossible.'
I have all the respect for them, but as far as Philippe goes it would be an extremely difficult to a near-impossible move. I would be very difficult for Philippe to play for any of Liverpool’s rivals, because he has such a great affinity towards Liverpool. His time there was fantastic.
The agent said Coutinho still supports Jurgen Klopp's side: "I know he was cheering every time they had the chance. Lucas Leiva is the same way. A lot of these guys who leave Liverpool remain Liverpool fans because of the fans and the passion they have."
He went on to stress a return to the Premier League would be a "very difficult deal" but the only possible club for Coutinho is Liverpool.
"Every time we’ve spoken about it we’ve had that same conversation, he would find it hard to play for another club in the Premier League.
"With the build-up they’ve done and the squad they have, it [signing Coutinho] would really have to be something they would have to decide whether or not they feel there is now a current gap in the squad for someone life Philippe."
Philippe Coutinho was the darling of The Kop during his five-year stay at Liverpool. He grew into one of the best players in the Premier League, and was viewed by many as the perfect example of the impact Jurgen Klopp could have on a squad.
Last season, Ernesto Valverde repeatedly defended Coutinho publicly after he was jeered by fans. It is easy to see why a return to his previous employer might be attractive.
