There were two improbable results from tonight's round of Champions League quarter finals as Liverpool beat Manchester City at the Etihad and Roma mounted an unbelievable comeback against Barcelona knocking the Catalans out of the competition on away goals.
With Roma and Liverpool now in the draw for the semi-final of Europe's premier competition it didn't take Reds fans long to take the opportunity to point out Barca's failure to their former fan favourite Philipe Coutinho. The Brazilian moved to Barcelona in January in order to 'win trophies', and the irony of Barca's exit in the wake of Liverpool's progression was not lost on Reds fans:

Liverpool in the semi-finals of the Champions League whilst Barcelona and Coutinho look to be heading out against Roma. Karma is a truly wonderful thing.

Coutinho was cup tied for Barcelona tonight so could not help his side as they were beaten 3-0 by Roma in Italy. The funniest part of the whole story however, is that should Liverpool win the Champions League, the Brazilian will receive a winners medal, having played five times for the Reds in Europe this season.
