Roy Keane has a certain persona when on punditry duties, but those who come across him in every day life will often tell you how generous he is when it comes to supporting worth causes.
His charity work has been well publicised, with the former Ireland captain also known to show up announced in his native Cork to help out local charities or initiatives.
One Cork doctor has provided one such example.
In a video in TikTok, Dr Niamh Ni Loinsigh recalled how she feels a visit from Roy Keane to a local paediatric unit resulted in a 'Christmas miracle'.
I have debated long and hard about putting this video on this platform, but you know what? People need to hear something nice.
I give you my tale of Roy Keane and the Christmas Miracle.

Most of you know that Roy Keane is a hero in Cork. The closest thing I have ever seen to a Christmas miracle was facilitated, I think, by Roy Keane.
It was 20 years ago and we were looking after a (young) patient who was very, very unwell. It came to a point where we weren't really sure if they were going to make it.
Unannounced and without any fanfare, Roy Keane came to visit the children's ward. He gave that child the boost and the energy that they needed to just keep going a little bit more I think.
On Christmas eve the professor of paediatrics rang me in tears and I feared the worst. But he said that this child was completely better and going home.
Thanks Roy.
While this took place a couple of decades ago, Keane still pops up in Cork every now and then to help out in any way he can.
That included on one occasion a couple of months ago, with the 50-year old giving a hand at soup kitchen Penny Dinners.
Roy Keane is known for his dry wit in his punditry but off-camera he seems to have a softer touch as he spent this morning preparing sandwiches at the Cork soup kitchen Penny Dinnershttps://t.co/hdQRFJ8vG3

He may portray a certain persona on our TV screens, but Keane certainly has a softer side to him as well.
