Cork City will face Legia Warsaw in the first qualifying round of the Champions League. The League of Ireland champions will play the first leg at home and then travel to Poland for the second leg a week later - that is unless the games are switched.
Celtic were drawn against Armenian champions Alashkert.
The draw, which took place on Tuesday morning, was far more expedited process than usually occurs for Champions League draws. There was no former footballer, just an anonymous UEFA suit in a room with some bowls and balls. Christian Karembau's children can forget about third-level education if it catches on.
The first legs will be played on July 10/11 with the second leg on July 17/18.
Cork are guaranteed to earn a minimum of €800,000. If they progress to the next round, that will rise to €1.2 million.
There is a consolation for the losers of the tie between Cork City and Legia Warsaw: the defeated team will receive a bye into the third qualifying round of the Europa League.
Whichever side emerges victorious will face either Slovakia's Sparktak Trnava or Bosnia and Herzegovina champions HŠK Zrinjski Mostar in the second qualifying round.
If Celtic qualify for the next round they will face either Valur Reykjavik or Rosenborg.
