Like the way Christmas seems to come earlier each year, so too does speculation surrounding the the January transfer window. At Liverpool, fans are more or less happy with the current crop of players at the club's disposal, though they would probably not say no to a few more additions nonetheless.

But in actual fact, the club is focusing more on keeping the nucleus of the team that they have at the moment, and that is reflected in the FSG's continued success in tying down players to long term deals.

However, there are some worries for supporters in regards to contracts, and although they might not be worth the paper they're written down on these days, let's take a look at which current Reds are in danger of heading for the exit door.

Nearly out the door

liverpool player contracts

James Milner - Summer 2019

Daniel Sturridge - Summer 2019

Alberto Moreno - Summer 2019

Lazar Markovic - Summer 2019

James Milner and Daniel Sturridge are both free agents come next June. You feel that Klopp could let either of them go, though with the evergreen Milner currently in the form of his life, the German may be tempted to see if he can squeeze another season out of the robust midfielder. Sturridge has also made a strong start to the season after his persistent injury woes, though may not prove value for money with his reported £120,000 week salary.

Moving down the list Lazar Markovic is basically a persona non grata at the club and it is understood that Moreno will be on his way once the season reaches its conclusion.

Thinking hard about things

Joel Matip - Summer 2020

Adam Lallana - Summer 2020 (optional additional year)

Nathaniel Clyne - Summer 2020

Divock Origi - Summer 2020

Onto the summer of 2020 and we're still not in danger of losing any first teamers. Joel Matip and Nathaniel Clyne currently make excellent second choice options for the Reds, though Divock Origi is clearly wanted out of the club after an unsuccessful loan spell at Wolfsburg.

Adam Lallana's deal runs out in 2020, though the club have the right to extend his contract by another year. Probably the most valuable player on this list for Jurgen Klopp.

Keeping their options open

Sadio Mane - Summer 2021

Georginio Wijnaldum - Summer 2021

Andrew Robertson - Summer 2021 (optional additional year)

Dejan Lovren - Summer 2021

Simon Mignolet - Summer 2021

Trent Alexander Arnold - Summer 2021

In 2021 Sadio Mane's contract will be up, and he is a priority for the club to tie down to a new long term deal. Perhaps the biggest worry for Liverpool fans at the moment, though the Senegal international has shown no signs that he wants to leave Anfield anytime soon.

Another player that has grown under Klopp's tutelage is Georginio Wijnaldum. The Dutch midfielder has shown just how crucial he is to Liverpool's team this season, and has arguably been their stand out performer. His deal runs until 2021.

Andrew Robertson has been a bargain buy for FSG, the left back's deal at the club also runs until 2021 though there is an option to extend the deal for a further year. Trent Alexander is in the same boat as his Scottish counterpart and the club will surely see the pair as the two main full backs for the foreseeable future.

Degsy Lovren and Simon Mignolet complete the list of players who's contracts are up in 2021. Klopp has a fondness for Lovren, which has seen him play the Croatian over Joe Gomez at centre back so don't be surprised to see the 29-year-old extend his stay at Anfield. Mignolet on the other hand will probably leave Liverpool in the summer having been ousted by record signing Alisson Becker.

Settled

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - Summer 2022

Dominic Solanke - Summer 2022

Joe Gomez - Summer 2022

In four year's time three player's will be out of contract at Anfield and fans will be pleased to know that two of those players are Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain. The other is Dominic Solanke, who has struggled to make an impact since signing from Chelsea.

In for the long haul

Mohamed Salah - Summer 2023

Roberto Firmino - Summer 2023

Naby Keita - Summer 2023

Virgil Van Dijk - Summer 2023

Fabinho - Summer 2023

Jordan Henderson - Summer 2023

Xherdan Shaqiri - Summer 2023

Alisson - Summer 2024

Onto 2023 and this will make great reading for Reds' fans. Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Jordan Henderson all have deals until June of 2023. New signing Alisson's deal runs until 2024 which means that Liverpool's spine should be secured for the next couple of years at least.
