Earlier this week, Conor Hourihane was named Championship Player of the Month for August. It was a deserved accolade for the Corkman who currently plays for Barnsley.
In the opening five games of the Championship season, he scored twice and added two assists. He added another assist yesterday for the winner which saw Barnsley beat Preston.
According to The Irish Sun, the 25-year-old is being 'monitored' by both Celtic and Rangers. They also say that Barnsley's fellow Championship sides Wigan and Aston Villa are also interested.
Given his form - so far this season he's ranked as the second best player in the Championship by WhoScored.com - it's no surprise that Hourihane is garnering attention.
Hourihane had a deadly left foot - just check out some of the goals he's scored during his Barnsley career in the video above. In 50 games for Barnsley last season, he scored 11 goals.
A goal scoring midfielder like Hourihane will also surely receive a call-up from Martin O'Neill sooner rather than later.
