Brazil are continuing where they left off by leaking early goals in the World Cup Third Place Playoff. Robin Van Persie converted an early penalty which, on reflection, probably shouldn't have been given.
Officials make mistakes, it's human nature, but RTÉ commentator Stephen Alkin seemed to think it might have been something else. For the sake of reference, the referee for the game is Algeria's Djamel Haimoudi and his assistants are fellow Algerian Abdelhalk Etchiali and Moroccan Rédouane Achik.
We have to ask the question, what the fuck does the officials being African have to do with their ability to get the decision right?
Here's the decision that prompted Alkin's remark.
