Former Match of the Day 2 presenter and Northern Ireland native Colin Murray has announced he is quitting Talksport following the radio stations takeover by Rupert Murdoch's News UK. Murdoch is the owner of The Sun newspaper, whose appalling coverage of the Hillsborough disaster - in which they fabricated lies about fans' behaviour, making unfounded allegations that fans pickpocketed and urinated upon dead supporters beneath the headline The Truth - has lead to a boycott of the paper by Liverpool supporters since 1989.
Murray himself is a Liverpool supporter - he has five stars tattooed on his wrist to represent Liverpool's five European Cups - and has released a statement on twitter saying that he is quitting his daily Talksport show as he will not countenance forming a working relationship with The Sun newspaper. Here is the statement in full:

Elsewhere, Stan Collymore confirmed yesterday that he is also leaving the station, albeit not voluntarily: his contract has not been renewed.
