Cobh Ramblers have contacted the FAI after some irregular betting patterns were reported in relation to their SSE Airtricity League First Division clash against Limerick FC on Saturday.

The match finished in a 3-2 victory for Limerick.

Cork media outlets had reported that an unusually large number of bets had been placed on the game, something that had been brought to the attention of the club. It is standard practice to then report such incidents to the FAI.

Cobh have confirmed in a statement today that the FAI have indeed been contacted in relation to the matter:

The Board of Cobh Ramblers are aware of speculation in relation to Saturday night's SSE Airtricity League fixture. As of yesterday morning (Sunday) we have formally requested the Football Association of Ireland to investigate.

The club will assist the FAI with their enquiries. Whilst this investigation is on-going there will be no further comment from the club.
