It hasn't been a good few months for Liverpool in the transfer market if all the rumours are to be believed. After Memphis Depay apparently rejected Liverpool to join rivals Manchester United, Liverpool look to have been given a break in the transfer market.
Just hours after news of their bid for Southampton's young right back Nathaniel Clyne was rejected, Liverpool have been given a boost in their pursuit of the former Crystal Palace defender with news that Manchester United have pulled out of the race to sign him.
I'm told MUFC are no longer interested in Clyne so looks like Liverpool are in pole position to sign him

It's by no means a certainty that Liverpool will get their man judging by recent history, but the only thing standing between them and signing Clyne is their reluctance of paying the money that Southampton are looking for so that Clyne can join ex-teammates Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren, and Adam Lallana at Anfield.
