The English transfer window is well and truly open and the interest in a number of Irish talents is growing daily. That includes former St Patricks Athletic and Drogheda United defender Luke McNally, who is attracting interest from a number of clubs and his departure from Burnley looks imminent.
The 24 year-old spent last season on loan at Stoke City and looks to be well down the pecking order at Turf Moor, with the club reportedly willing to listen to offers for the centre-back.
New Burnley manager Scott Parker currently has seven first-team centre-backs at the club as they’re set to start the new season with a bloated squad. Burnley have 37 first-team players on their books at the moment as they prepare for a hectic Championship calendar.

Three clubs to battle it our for Irish defender Luke McNally
Football Insider are reporting that Stoke are keen to re-sign Luke McNally after he became a key player for the Potters on loan last season. It is suggested that Bristol City and League One club Birmingham City are also in the hunt for his signature.
McNally made 41 appearances at Stoke last season, playing more minutes than anyone else in the squad.
Stoke and Bristol City will hope that the prospect of continuing to play Championship football can make them more appealing options than Birmingham, despite the potential and ambition that the League One side have shown during the summer transfer window.
McNally joins Jake O'Brien, Sammie Szmodics and Rory Finneran among the Irish players that have been at centre of some interesting transfer rumours this summer. New Irish manager Heimir Hallgrímsson will no doubt be keeping a close eye on how those players progress over the coming months.
