With most people's attention focused on important matters in GAA & hockey, the Community Shield game between Man City and Chelsea has fallen down the pecking order on most people's list of 'must-watch' sport today.
With searing temperatures in London and the two squads far from full strength, the action was largely forgettable with City cruising into a two goal lead thanks to a strike from Sergio Aguero in each half. City were much the better side and look to be in decent shape for next week's league opener against Arsenal, with youngster Phil Foden catching the eye in a midfield minus Silva & De Bruyne.
Another second-string player starting today and looking to stake a claim for a starting berth for this season is goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. Since Ederson's arrival last season, Bravo has been relegated to appearances in cup games, having lost the trust of Pep Guardiola and the City support during his calamitous debut season.
Despite being largely untested during today's run out at Wembley, the Chilean still managed to turn a hopeless punt forward from Marcos Alonso into a moment of danger when he completely misjudged the flight of the ball and had to scramble to recover.

The former Barcelona keeper looks completely bereft of confidence and has been an accident waiting to happen for most of his City career so far, so Ederson's place in goal for the more important business this season is looking more secure than ever.
The shambolic sight of Bravo chasing the ball towards his own goal with Alvaro Morata snapping at his heels offered a moment of comic relief to compensate those who chose to to spend their Sunday afternoon watching the dreary action at Wembley.
Chelsea need to get Bravo in the game.

There's always Claudio Bravo to give us a good laugh.
