Claudio Bravo has run out of things to drop, so now things are dropping him.
Having failed to qualify for the World Cup Chile are currently reckoning with the end of their Golden Generation: by the time their next competitive game swings around in 2019, too many of their top players will be on the wrong side of 30.
As you may expect, the fallout from their surprise failure in qualification has been spectacular, with poor old Claudio Bravo bearing the brunt of it.
After Chile's fate was sealed, Bravo's wife took to Instagram to berate some of Bravo's teammates for their lack of professionalism, claiming that some did not train owing to hangovers.
This did not go down particularly well within the Chilean camp, and Bravo has borne the brunt of the backlash in schoolyard fashion.
Per a report in La Tercers, a WhatsApp group featuring Bravo, Arturo Vidal, Gary Medel, Gonzalo Jara and Jean Beausejour has been deleted. It has been replaced by another entitled La Roja Sin Sapos....without Bravo.
The title of the new group chat, by the way, crudely translates as The Reds Without Toads.
Harsh.
