Jagiellonia Białystok beat Dinamo Batumi in the first leg of their Europa League first qualifying round game on Thursday evening.
The Polish side's winner came via Cavan man Cillian Sheridan.
After missing a first half penalty, Sheridan redeemed himself by scoring the only goal of the game four minutes into the second half.
A ball into the box, headed on twice, eventually found its way to the left foot of Sheridan who struck past the Georgian side's keeper.
Sheridan joined Jagiellonia in February from Cypriot team Omonia on a two-and-a-half year deal. He would go on to score eight goals as his side finished as runners-up in the Ekstraklasa.
