It may not be transfer deadline day, but that doesn't mean that Jim White isn't busy in his gold tie getting the latest on all the transfers.
The latest official bid that has come across Jim's desk involves an integral part of the Ireland defence.
News this morning of a £5m bid from West Brom for Aston Villa's Ciaran Clark
— Jim White (@JimWhite) July 25, 2015
25-year-old Irish international Ciaran Clark is the subject of a £5 million bid from West Brom. The Baggies are apparently keen for the 11-times capped defender to switch his midlands allegiance.
Clark has played 116 games for Villa since joining them as an academy player 15 years ago. He struggled to get as much gametime as he would have liked last season with Ron Vlaar, Phillipe Senderos, Nathan Baker, Jores Okore all in the Villa squad. Things can't get much easier for Clark now that Micah Richard has arrived, and a move to the Baggies could be benefical.
