Brentford enjoyed their greatest day yet in the Premier League, as they stormed to an astonishing 4-1 win at Stamford Bridge. What made the win even better was that one of their goals was scored by Christian Eriksen. The Dane has had an extraordinary week, and his goal put Brentford 2-1 up and on their way to a famous win over their West London rivals.
The win at Stamford Bridge moves Brentford closer to Premier League safety, and was a massive shock at the home of last year's Champions League winners.
Brentford smash Chelsea 4-1 at Stamford Bridge
Brentford made an immediate impact on the Premier League, taking a famous win in front of a packed home crowd on the opening weekend against Arsenal.
They have struggled for consistency since that opening night, but the acquisition of Christian Eriksen in January was an exciting marker that The Bees intend on staying in the Premier League.
Eriksen was in the hearts of all football fans after the horrifying events of last June, when he suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark's EURO 2020 game against Finland. He has managed miraculous full recovery, and he is back among the goals.
Just over a month since making his return to football with Brentford, Eriksen scored his first goal for the club this afternoon - and he could hardly have picked a better situation to have done it in.
Antonio Rudiger put Chelsea 1-0 up just after half-time with an incredible long-range strike. It looked as though it would be the same old story for Brentford. In just 10 second-half minutes, however, they turned the game on its head.
Vitaly Janelt equalised after 50 minutes, before the moment Eriksen had been waiting for arrived just four minutes later. After a rapid breakaway, the Danish midfielder scored his first goal for Brentford with a neat chip over Chelsea 'keeper Edouard Mendy.
The joy on Eriksen's face was plain to see and, incredibly, that was not the end for Brentford.
Janelt would go on to grab a second goal just six minutes after Eriksen's - in the space of 12 minutes, Chelsea had gone from 1-0 up to 3-1 down on home soil.
A late fourth from Yoane Wissa sealed a famous win for Brentford on the turf of the European champions, one that helps move the club towards safety from the relegation battle.
Much of the emotion of the day came from Eriksen's first Premier League goal for Brentford. The former Spurs and Inter man is enjoying a week from heaven. He made his return to playing for his country this week, scoring in both games against the Netherlands and Serbia.
His goal against Serbia, in his first Denmark game in Copenhagen since that fateful clash with Finland, was particularly emotional.

Speaking on BBC's Final Score on Saturday, Martin Keown remembered commentating on that Denmark v Finland game last June, and poignantly praised Eriksen for his

I was doing the Denmark game when Eriksen fell over.
We never thought he'd actually return to the pitch - not only has he done that with great aplomb for his country, but today he's scored an incredible goal.
At the end of it, the deft touch, lifting it over the goalkeeper, it's brilliant play from Brentford.
To see him do that and cap it off is magnificent to see. He can still play the game of football that he loves so much, and he's not being denied, and we're not being denied, the spectacle that he provides.
The return of Christian Eriksen has been nothing short of incredible. With doubts circulating whether he would ever return to football, he has managed to return to the form of his time at Tottenham.
He played a crucial role in one of Brentford's most famous ever wins on Saturday, on a day that Bees fans will never forget.
