When incredibly annoying bastard Sam Sparrow emerged with his solitary hit single in 2008, we thought the colour combination of black and gold would be ruined forever.
We were incorrect. Introducing the Pogboom: Paul Pogba's new ADIDAS ACE 16+ PureControl, a football boot so sultry it needs its own age of consent.
Alright, we made that last part up. But these new boots are seriously bloody slick, and for once, not having a tongue actually augments them.
The colours draw inspiration from Juventus' third kit, and the words 'Pogboom' and 'Pogbance' are a tribute to the 23-year-old's rocket of a strike and iconic goal celebrations.
Neither were on show at the Allianz Arena this evening, but Pogba did roll one home from range to give the Old Lady the lead over Bayern both on the night and on aggregate.
Just look at David Alaba stop dead in his tracks as soon as he catches his first glimpse of the Pogboom.
Unfortunately, Adidas say the boots are unique to the player himself, and won't be going on sale. However, they have revealed that the all-over print is a design element taken from the upcoming Adidas Ace boot which should be released later this year. Let's hope it comes in black and gold.
