There have been few better servants in Premier League history than Séamus Coleman.
The Irishman is in his 16th season as an Everton player and, though appearances have been more sporadic in recent years, it's clear that just about everyone he has played with or against in the league holds him in the highest esteem.
Rumours linked Coleman with European giants in the mid-2010s, with the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United thrown about as potential destinations. However, he has remained loyal to Everton through their significant struggles of recent years, with his leadership commended by each and every coach that has passed through Goodison Park during that time.
Coleman arrived at Everton in January 2010 from Sligo Rovers, in a deal that Toffees fans still celebrate to this day with the immortal '60 grand, 60 grand...' chant.
As this year's transfer window winds down, Premier League winner Chris Sutton was tasked this week with picking the greatest January signing in Premier League history, and lavished the Everton captain with the highest praise.

Chris Sutton lavished Seamus Coleman with praise in brilliant clip
In a brilliant clip for BBC Radio 5 Live, ex-Blackburn and Celtic star Chris Sutton took on a 'Winner stays on' challenge to find the best ever January signing in Premier League history.
Some of the early names thrown out were more misses than hits but the challenge really got flowing when the name of Séamus Coleman was mentioned.
🤔 Who's the best January signing ever?

When asked to choose between Jarrod Bowen's move to West Ham or Séamus Coleman to Everton, Sutton was in no doubt:
Oh, Séamus Coleman, it has to be. He barely cost a penny! What a servant.
Séamus Coleman, absolutely. I'm gonna say Séamus Coleman every time now!
Sutton went on to plump for the Irishman over some brilliant signings of recent years, including Bruno Fernandes and Nemanja Vidic to Manchester United, and Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez to Liverpool.
Most notably, he did not hesitate in picking Coleman over Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk, a player widely held as one of the best centre-backs in Premier League history.
It's extremely high praise but Chris Sutton won't find any arguments from Irish fans and, after 15 years of immense service to Everton, it's wholly deserved by Séamus Coleman.
