One of the summer's longest transfer sagas has finally drawn to an end, with Adam Idah joining Celtic on a permanent deal from Norwich City this week.
The Ireland striker had been heavily linked with a move to Glasgow in recent months, with the club keen to sign him after a hugely successful loan spell last season. The player himself seemed desperate for the move, even reporting back late for pre-season training as negotiations dragged on.
Celtic would eventually be forced to part with a fee worth up to £9.5million to sign Idah, with Norwich City playing hardball throughout the negotiations. That makes him the third move expensive player in the club's history.
While Hoops fans are thrilled to see him back at Parkhead, some Norwich fans have have been shocked at the amount the club were able to recoup for a player that was often in and out of the side during his time at Carrow Road.

Sutton Unconvinced By Norwich Fan Claims About Idah's Celtic Move
Adam Idah did struggle at times during his lengthy spell at Norwich City, although it's also fair to say that the club did not always put him in the best position to succeed. Not only was he in and out of the team, but the Cork man was also sometimes played out of position as a wide player.
Chris Sutton, who starred for both Norwich City and Celtic, does not think the fee is an out of proportion one.
Writing in Pink Un, the Englishman said that the transfer fee paid to bring Adam Idah to Celtic was a fair one for a player of his abilities.
Adam Idah is now close to a move to Celtic for a fee that could be £9.5m - a price point discussed with interest from both sides.
From a Celtic perspective, that figure isn't that much for a development player in this day and age. Clubs always tend to pay more for potential and Idah still has plenty, even though it hasn't worked out as anyone hoped at Norwich...
From a Norwich perspective, there will be fans who will be wondering how on earth they've managed to get that fee for him, but I think with his age and profile, it's not a massive fee relative to today's market.
Adam Idah will certainly be well worth that fee if he can fire Celtic to success in domestic and European competition over the coming seasons.
The thoughts of seeing him light it up in Glasgow is certainly an exciting prospect for Ireland fans.
