Having arrived at the club to little fanfare back in January, it's fair to say that Adam Idah won the Celtic fans over during his loan spell in Glasgow last season.

The deal to sign the Irishman did not inspire a huge amount of confidence among the club's supporters at the time, who were unsure what he would offer to the side. However, after scoring some massive goals for the club (including a winner against Rangers in the Scottish Cup final), he quickly became a favourite at Parkhead.

Celtic fans were keen to see Idah be signed on a permanent basis this summer, although Norwich City have proven to be tough negotiators. It has been suggested that they will seek a fee of £8million to sell the player, double the amount offered by the Scottish club in their opening bid.

However, some believe that there have been hints that we will eventually see the Cork native move to Glasgow.

Sutton Thinks Celtic Dropped Idah Hint With Recent Transfer Move

While the deal to sign Adam Idah has stalled, Celtic have been busy in the transfer market this summer.

Kasper Schmeichel and young Finnish goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo have both joined in recent times, while both Sead Haksabanovic and Hyeongyu Oh have left the club.

Writing in the Daily Record, Chris Sutton suggested that the decision to let Hyeongyu Oh move to Genk hinted that Celtic felt a deal for Adam Idah was inevitable.

The decision to allow Hyeongyu Oh to leave suggests to me Celtic are confident they will get Adam Idah back – despite some of the noises from Norwich.

I’m sure Rodgers would have preferred to have him on board for the US but the good thing about Idah is they know all about him and he wouldn’t need time to settle in. Celtic can afford to wait until the deal is right and he’ll walk back into the set-up without too much fuss.

Rodgers will need another striker though as Kyogo is the only one they have got right now. Even if Idah arrives, it still leaves them at least one short with Rocco Vata also heading for the door.

Hyeongyu Oh joined Genk in a deal worth around £4.5million, money that could now be reinvested in a move for Adam Idah. The South Korea international saw his playing time severely limited after the arrival of the Ireland forward last season.

There is still plenty of time for a deal to be completed, although it would suit all parties to get the transfer sorted as soon as possible.
