Chris Smalling is set to leave Man Utd this summer.
According to The Telegraph, Jose Mourinho believes the centre-back is not good enough to aid Man Utd in a Premier League title bid.
Over the weekend, Man Utd announced the signing of Benfica's Swedish centre-back Victor Lindelof. The 22-year-old's arrival means there is no place for Smalling in Mourinho's squad.
Smalling was one of Man Utd's best players in the 2015/16 season, being voted Players' Player of the Season.
However, he drew the ire of Mourinho last season. Smalling, along with Luke Shaw and Phil Jones, were the subjects of numerous comments by the Portuguese manager in the media regarding what he saw as their unwillingness to play through injury.
Smalling missed some key games for Man Utd at a crucial point in the season, including all of his side's fixtures in April. Mourinho apparently has serious doubts about the England defender's mental toughness.
The upshot of this for other Premier League teams is that Smalling could be available for as little as £15 million.
West Ham, West Brom and Everton are all said to be interested.
Though Phil Jones was also on the receiving end of Mourinho's anger last season. It is said, due to his versatility, that he will remain at the club.
