Dundalk were hosting Shamrock Rovers tonight at Oriel Park in what promised to be a potentially difficult task for last year's league runners-up.
After a tight but entertaining first-half ended scoreless, Stephen Kenny's men opened up the scoring through Robbie Benson early into the second-half.
Yet, barely 10 minutes had passed before Chris Shields caught out an unsuspecting Rovers 'keeper - not a goal he will look back on fondly.
Not that it bothered Shields all that much.

Shamrock Rovers' 'keeper won't be too happy with the nature of the breakthrough goal from Robbie Benson either.
