Chris McCann proved an important player for Wigan as they won League One and promotion to the Championship last season.
The Dubliner player 31 times in the League, scoring seven times
McCann was out of contract with Wigan this summer though was expected to re-sign with the club.
Surprisingly, rather than play his football in the Championship next season, the 28-year-old is moving to the MLS with expansion side Atlanta United.
