Brighton and Hove Albion take on Arsenal tomorrow as they look to continue to cement their place in the Premier League.
Chris Hughton's side have defied many expectations this season, their first ever in the Premier League. They are currently 12th and unbeaten in six games and people are starting to notice.
Last week Frank Lampard hailed the work Hughton has done as 'incredible' and today in an interview with the Guardian, Steve Sidwell has mirrored that praise.
Sidwell has played for Arsenal, Chelsea and Aston Villa under the likes of Arsene Wenger, José Mourinho and Gérard Houllier, and regards Hughton in the same bracket.
I have been lucky to work under some of the best managers this country has seen, and I would put him up the top with them. Because he doesn’t scream and shout from the rooftops and doesn’t like the spotlight on him that goes against him. People are starting to take note. If he continues at the top level who knows if a bigger job, or even the England job, will come?
Hughton has spoken in the past about his desire to manage the Republic of Ireland and was the first black player to ever play for the country but he was born and currently works in the UK. It does seem as if he is finally getting the plaudits he deserves after some remarkable work throughout his career.
