During the week, after just a year with Peterborough and at the age of 23, Chris Forrester was named club captain.
The Dubliner had an excellent first season with the League One side. After signing for the club in August, he made 33 appearances in the league, scoring twice. During Peterborough's FA Cup replay with West Brom, which was broadcast on BBC, Forrester was lauded for his performance.
Such was his progression, in March Martin O'Neill called him up to his provisional squad for the friendlies against Switzerland and Slovakia.
On Friday, a good week got even better for Forrester as he was handed a new three-year contract by Peterborough.

Speaking on the club's YouTube channel regarding Forrester's new deal, club chairman Darragh MacAnthony claimed that both he and the player had take a chance last August. According to MacAnthony, Forrester took a pay cut when he signed for Peterborough.
I took a punt on Chris last year and he took a punt on coming over because he took a pay cut when he came over, but I promised him that if he had a good season then we would look at his contract again. I get on well with his agent and we have been working on the deal in the last few days and it was easy to get it done. He is one of our most coveted assets at the football club.
Chris has been excellent for us, the gaffer has named him captain of the club and him agreeing a new deal sends a real statement out there.
MacAnthony's assertion would certainly go against rumours in Ireland which suggested Forrester considerably increased his income by moving to England.
MacAnthony also said on Twitter during the week that the player could only be prized from the club if a Premier League side came calling.
If Champ clubs come then yes for this season, but Prem makes it tougher but ill break my balls to do so. He's vital! https://t.co/1MWbUWrFSX
