Chris Forrester has been impressing since he made the move from St.Pats to Peterborough in League One back in August, and has even drawn comparisons to one of the finest midfield players in English football.
Speaking to BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, Peterborough boss Graham Westley thinks Forrester's game bares a striking resemblance to that of a Michael Carrick, and thinks that the Irish U21 international can go on to achieve great things.
There's so much Michael Carrick in him it's scary.
You look at the likes of Carrick, an intelligent player, reads the game brilliantly well, owns, keeps and passes the ball in the right way - he's got so many of the characteristics.
Could you see him being even better? He probably gets more goals than Carrick - he's a great player in the making.
Forrester earned a reputation for the spectacular during his time in the League of Ireland, and has bagged two goals in 13 games so far for The Posh, which has prompted BBC Sport to draw up this quick and comically unnecessary comparison chart:
Westley continued to wax lyrical about Forrester, pointing to last weekend's fixture against Doncaster as an example of his influence:
You look at the stats from last weekend's game, he was up near the 70-pass mark.
I think he's got a lot more in him as he learns the diamond shape and improves his physical condition he'll get on the ball even more.
We've seen what he can do in terms of arriving in the box and scoring goals, we've seen his passing, he's such a composed individual, he's a cracking player.
An exciting review of one of the brightest prospects to come out of the LOI in recent years. Hopefully he can continue his impressive early form and kick-on to rise up the English divisions and one day pull on the green jersey.
