You would think that most footballers would want to forget a moment of agony such as seeing your shot hit the bar in the 119th minute of a World Cup knock-out game against Brazil, but Chile Striker Mauricio Pinilla has decided to take that moment with him wherever he goes after having a drawing of the shot tattooed onto his back.
Pinilla had entered the game as a substitute for Chile, and with one minute left to play in extra-time, he rattled a shot off the crossbar from the edge of the box. Had it gone in, World Cup hosts Brazil would have been facing a shock elimination from the group stage, instead they went on to win the tie on penalties. Pinilla surrounded the image of his shot with the words "One centimetre from glory".
Seems like something you would rather forget than have permanently marked on your skin, but to each their own.
