Monaco are heading out of the Champions League, but in truth, the tie was over after the first-leg: Juventus led 2-0 after last week's game, and seem utterly allergic to the idea of allowing the opponent getting anything other than 'nil'.
Much of this is down to Gigi Buffon, who, at 39, is yet to concede a goal in the knockout stages of this year's competition. (With saves like this from Andrés Iniesta, that's not fully surprising). But Buffon is greatly helped by the fact that he has some of the world's best defenders in front of him in Bonucci, Barzagli, and Chiellini.
The later of that remarkable trio has been at his best once again tonight, against one of the most prodigious attacks in the game.
His exceptional defensive skill is best summed up by this clip, minutes before Dani Alves gave Juve an unassailable aggregate lead. We're not entirely sure how he managed to divert Mendy's cross behind the post for a corner, rather than between them for an own goal to level the score on the night.
He gave it a fist-pump afterward, and he earned a huge embrace from Buffon for his efforts.
Here it is in real time.
And here it is from another angle, to help show how he changed his body position at a critical moment:
Oh, and in the middle of this run of clean sheets against Monaco, Barcelona, and Porto, Chiellini picked up a Masters' degree in Business Administration.
Not bad.
