Chelsea Football Club have been banned from signing players for two transfer windows after they were found guilty of breaching rules about signing minors by FIFA.
The Premier League club were also hit with a £460,000 fine.
FIFA released a statement confirming the news.
This ban applies to the club as a whole - with the exception of the women's and futsal teams - and does not prevent the release of players.
The ban is in relation to 29 incidences of breaching article 19, which concerns players under the age of 18. One of the breaches is reported to be in relation to the signing of Bertrand Traore in 2013.
Chelsea can sell players but can not register any new ones. The FA have also been handed a £390,000 fine.
The club have been granted 90 days where they must rectify the situation with regards to any player signed.
