Third kits are a curious thing in football. They rarely get worn and are usually just another opportunity for clubs to milk their supporters for a few more quid. Despite this, it does give rise to some nice alternative kits, as is the case with Chelsea's latest release.
Weirdly the club have waited until the season is well under way to announce the design of their third kit, but I suppose it's not that unusual given the jersey will only be worn a handful of times throughout the course of the season.
Nevertheless, it is a stylish effort by Nike, with the teal design supposedly incorporating a map of West London, with Chelsea's crest denoting the location of Stamford Bridge:
Style meets technology. Introducing our 2018/19 @nikefootball third kit, featuring NikeConnect!⚡️

The new kit also features NikeConnect, technology which has previously been used with NBA jerseys. NikeConnect allows fans to 'access incredible product, customised content and exclusive experiences', by downloading an app and scanning the logo/QR code near the hem of the top. Oh Goody.
If you want to splash out on the release, you can buy the jersey on Chelsea's official store here.
