It was a tough opening day for Chelsea. Jose Mourinho's side slumped to a 2-2 draw after goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois conceded a penalty and was sent off. It was the second successive opening day that Swansea had got points off one of the bigger sides after they surprised Man United 2-1 last year.
Mourinho was in no mood to discuss the sending off after the match, choosing instead to label his medical staff as naive. They tended to Eden Hazard after he got a knock, which ultimately meant that he had to come off the pitch for a period of time leaving Chelsea with nine men. Mourinho was adamant that Hazard was fine, and wasn't happy that his Chelsea physio left them with a two-man disadvantage for such a long time.
