Earlier today, multiple reports confirmed that Liverpool have submitted a bid for Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker. The reported offer is £53m up front, with £9m of add-ons. However, it seems should a deal by agreed, it will have ramifications beyond Liverpool football club.

Per Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, Chelsea are also set to lose their goalkeeper with Thibaut Courtois set to join Real Madrid. Florentino Pérez's interest in a new goalkeeper is no secret after high profile mistakes by Keylor Navas against Juventus and Bayern Munich last season. Having been linked to Brazil's Alisson earlier in the summer, it now looks like the Spanish giants have elected for Courtois instead.

Chelsea are reported to be interested in re-signing former keeper Petr Cech or alternatively, World Cup star and Leicester City shot-stopper Kasper Schmeichel as a replacement.

According to RMC,  the clubs agreed a €35 million deal today for Courtois, who has just a year left on his current contract. Petr Cech is now 36-years-old but Maurizio Sarri is said to be keen on resolving the goalkeeper position as soon as possible.
