Leeds concluded what was ultimately a disappointing season with a 1-1 draw against relegated Wigan at the DW Stadium.
After having occupied a Championship playoff spot for much of the season, Leeds slipped over recent weeks, eventually finishing five points behind Fulham in sixth.
Adding to Leeds manager Garry Monk's woes on Sunday was Charlie Taylor. Monk, speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, confirmed after today's game that the young left-back refused to lineout for his side.
I'm hugely disappointed with Charlie. I think he's been terribly advised all season and has refused to play the game. As a manager, you can't have that. It's a shame, as he's a great lad, a fantastic lad. Hopefully, he'll learn from the mistake he's made.
But I think, from the outside, he's been badly advised all season. We've tried to guide him from the inside but it's been very difficult for us as management to get a full Charlie Taylor. The injury was genuine but better advice all season and we would have seen a better Charlie Taylor.
The lure of the Premier League has been strong for Taylor who has reportedly refused to sign a new deal at Elland Road. Back in August, the 23-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, handed in a transfer request. That was rejected by the club and he went on to make 29 appearances for Leeds in the league.
He has recently been linked with a move to West Brom and previously Burnley.
