Reports circulating on Wednesday morning have claimed that two Championship clubs have expressed interest in securing the services of Drogheda United teenager Warren Davis.
Davis made his senior debut with the club in 2023 and has continued to impress in midfield since then, netting four goals and three assists across thirty-six appearances last season.
The 19-year-old who has now made fifty-eight appearances across his two seasons at the club has also represented Ireland at U19 level.

Championship clubs in race to sign Warren Davis
While Davis is contracted to stay in Louth until 2025, the prospect of a move across the Irish Sea now looks to be on the cards.
According to reports from Peter O'Rourke of Football Insider, both Welsh side Cardiff City and Preston North End have set their eyes on bringing the Drogheda man to the Championship.
Despite the interest from Preston and Cardiff, it is not yet known whether Drogheda are open to selling Warren Davis, or would rather keep him in their ranks to build on a successful 2024 that saw them lift the FAI Cup.
As it stands, if Davis was to depart Drogheda; Preston North would be the more attractive of the two options with the club currently sitting fifteenth in the Championship. Cardiff on the other hand are currently second from the bottom of the table having won just five of twenty-five games this season. Although the flying form of fellow Irishman Callum Robinson in the Welsh club could lure Davis that way.
While if Davis were to move away it would be a huge loss to Drogheda, the opportunity to take advantage of the 19-year-old's current form and secure a significant fee for him while he is in contract could prove very attractive to the club.
