The Championship's top scorer is always going to attract attention from Premier League teams. The man with he most goals in the second tier of English football this season just happens to be from Waterford.
Daryl Murphy has 18 goals for Ipswich so far in the 2014/15 season (you can watch 17 of them here), the latest being scored on Wednesday night in a 3-2 loss to Brighton.
The Premier League interest comes from a former manager of his - Steve Bruce. The two worked together at Sunderland. Hull are currently the joint third lowest scorers in the Premier League with 20 goals. Only Sunderland and Aston Villa have hit the back of the net fewer times.
According to the Irish Independent's Daniel McDonnell, injury issues with both Abel Hernandez and Nikica Jelavic is the reason for Murphy being considered.
With Ipswich just a point of Championship leaders Bournemouth and the 31-year-old a major factor in them being there, it would likely take a sizeable offer for Hull to prize away Murphy.
