The draw for the quarter-finals of the 2022 Champions League has been made, and inevitably it has stirred up some intriguing match-ups.
The draw has also been incredibly kind to Liverpool, who will avoid playing any Premier League sides until the final should they reach it. They drew arguably the weakest of the eight quarterfinal sides and won't be drawn into an epic round of match with Man City as they mount a title challenge.
The biggest tie of the round is Real Madrid vs Chelsea, in a repeat of last year’s semi-final, which the London club and Champions League holders won 3-1 on aggregate.
Perhaps the most interesting tie will be between Manchester City and Atletico Madrid, where fans will get to witness two sides with very different play styles go head-to-head.
They are also two of the best teams not to have won the Champions League in the last decade or in their history.

The two remaining ties will see Liverpool face off against Benfica, and Villareal do battle with 2020 Champions League winners Bayern Munich.
The draw for the semi-finals was also made, with the winner of Liverpool vs Benfica facing off against the winner of Bayern Munich vs Villareal, and the winner of Chelsea vs Real Madrid playing the winner of Manchester City vs Atletico Madrid.
Manchester City are joint favourites with Liverpool to win this year's Champions League while Bayern Munich and Chelsea sit just behind them.
It's going to be epic!
