This season's quarter-finals in the UEFA Champions League have been decided with a draw at UEFA HQ in Nyon this morning.
There are eight sides left in the chase for a final appearance in Kiev: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Sevilla, Juventus, Roma, Man City, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich. Five of these clubs have won the tournament before, and between them, Barca, Madrid, Juve, Liverpool and Bayern account for 29 titles. There is some novelty, too: Sevilla have qualified for the last eight of the European Cup for the first time in 60 years.
Andriy Shevchenko, given the fact the final will be held in his home country, conducted the draw. Sheva was asked whether he remembered his triumphs or disaster (Istanbul against Liverpool) the most in his retirement, and he dodged it expertly by saying it was "his dream to be a football player".
Sheva then set about doing the draw, which was entirely open with no restrictions based on countries or past ties.
The club named first below will play the first-leg at home.
Barcelona vs AS Roma
Sevilla vs Bayern Munich
Juventus vs Real Madrid
Liverpool vs Manchester City
The first legs will be played on 3 and 4 April, and the second legs will be played on 10 and 11 April 2018.
