Odsonne Edouard was the next man to breach the Kilmarnock defence on 25 minutes after a well worked move saw the French striker poke home to double the advantage:

Callum McGregor provided the platform for Celtic's third of the day, whipping in a vicious free kick which Michael Lustig threw a desperate limb at to put Brendan Rodger's side 3-0 up on 35 minutes.
Celtic didn't let up even with the game as good as over, and Ryan Christie made it four on the stroke of half time, curling a sweet free kick past a helpless Daniel Bachmann in goal.

Kilmarnock would get back into the game at the start of the second half, with Rory McKenzie winning a penalty against Filip Benkovic, which Eamonn Brophy duly dispatched.
