What a week it's been for Gibraltar club Lincoln Red Imps. A famous victory over Scottish champions Celtic has made them household names for the moment - but it wasn't really until Sky Sports News massive blunder that they really came to the fore.
That's not to take away from the victory. But things never seemed real when Sky reported 'facts' that the Red Imps average attendance was just 28, or that they can't train on Tuesdays because a local Metal Detecting society use their pitch.
Sky Sports were duped by a fake infographic, and now the Gibraltar team have responded:
Lincoln Red Imps Board are reviewing the very damaging and defamatory reporting made last night on a TV channel.

It's hard to blame them. It's a negative on an otherwise historic week for the club, and they are getting a lot of support on social media:
@CasciaroLee Good on you. The TV channel in question ought to be utterly ashamed of themselves.

@tete_blanche No fan of sky/Murdoch. Original is clearly joke. Sky are inept. But, get a full apology & big charity donation

Don't let stupid reporting spoil the occasion for you. Enjoy your success. It's well deserved.
