Celtic have started the 2022/23 campaign in the same fashion as they ended last season and they cruised to an emphatic 4-0 win over Rangers today. Ange Postecoglou's side did the majority of the damage during the first half, thanks to a brace from Liel Abada and an outrageous chip from Jota.

Just two points separated the sides going into the clash at Celtic Park, but even this early in the season, Rangers face a mammoth task to keep up with The Bhoys.

Celtic took the lead inside the first ten minutes through Liel Abada with his fifth league goal of the season.

Just after the half hour mark, Celtic doubled their lead through a crisp, chipped effort from Jota who is showing everyone just how much of a bargain £6 million was for him.

With half time looming, Liel Abada scored his sixth of the season to send Celtic 3-0 up at the interval.

McGregor on Celtic's win

Speaking after the game, Celtic skipper Callum McGregor praised his side and said that Rangers "struggled to live with them" during the game.

McGregor said:

Excellent, the intensity we started the game at was fantastic, they struggled to live with us at times, with the press, then when we got it we were super clean.

Really aggressive in the game, obviously to get the goal to start us off, it just kicks the whole stadium off as well. It was superb from start to finish.

Since the final whistle, Celtic have updated their Twitter bio to a list of all of today's goalscorers alongside the minute they netted in and it must be said, it's some top tier sh*thousery from their admin.

It's now six wins from six for Celtic as they sit in pole position to retain the SPFL. Meanwhile for Rangers, they haven't looked the same since their defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final at the end of last season.

Next up for Celtic is just the small task of overturning reigning Champions League holders Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Tuesday evening.

Pressure is certainly building for Giovanni Van Bronckhorst in the league with his side dropping points away to Hibs a couple of weeks back, before today's hammering.
