Finally an interesting story from the Asian Cup. Celtic's Ki Sung-Yueng scored a penalty for Korea in their match vs Japan yesterday. Ki began to scratch his face strangely by the corner flag, which has caused many to speculate that he was making a monkey face. The Japanese media certainly thought so, and said the celebration was a racist slur against Japanese people. The South Korean press officer blames Scotland and their football fans: "People made noises and monkey sounds in Scotland when he played away games. He wanted to show the world," according to Tom Williams.
